In this role you will be Group Lead DPO (Data Protection Officer) and DPO for both the Dutch lotteries and the Postcode Lottery Group. You will be responsible for safeguarding data protection and privacy within our organisation. In addition, you will work as Senior Legal Counsel on various projects and contracts for the Dutch lotteries. And every day at work, you’ll be doing your part for all the charities we support.

As (Group Lead) DPO and Senior Legal Counsel:

  • You will oversee compliance with applicable data protection legislation, such as the GDPR and the AI Act. You ensure that the Lotteries comply with requirements relating to data processing, consent and the rights of data subjects.
  • You will advise the organisation and its employees on data protection matters. This includes providing guidance during the design of new projects, systems and processes to ensure that privacy principles are properly integrated.
  • You are the point of contact between the organisation and the supervisory authorities for data protection. You will coordinate and communicate with the authorities on data protection matters.
  • You coordinate privacy-related topics across our different countries. You act as the key contact for the implementation of CRM and Analytics initiatives.
  • You are responsible for the privacy aspects of group contracts and will provide advice on various contracts and legal projects for the Dutch lotteries.
  • In this role, you will report to senior management on the state of data protection within the organisation and any potential risks or issues.

This is how you describe yourself

You’d describe yourself as follows:

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Dutch Law (LLM) with at least 8 years’ experience in the field of privacy and contracts, preferably in a senior advisory role and strong knowledge of GDPR and other relevant privacy laws and regulations. International experience would be an advantage.
  • Preferably you are holding a privacy certification, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or a DPO certification via IAPP and a strong interest in AI.
  • You are capable of translating complex privacy topics for various stakeholders and demonstrate strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and privacy.
  • You have strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • You’re looking for a monthly salary between €6,800 and €9,100, based on a 40-hour week.
